I am not a religious man by any means. Whenever anyone asks me what I am, I usually just say “I don’t know.” or “Nothing.” I have a hard time trying to categorize what exactly is going on in my head. I know what I believe in, and a lot of the time, it changes based events in my life (more along the lines of realizations.[“Aha!”])
Recently, whenever anyone brings up the Bible in a conversation, I feel like covering my ears, and burrowing my face into the ground. Whether I’m being shamed for all of my sins and all of the awful, awful things that I have done, or someone just feels like talking shit. I guess either way I don’t really care, but I do have to admit, there’s something about the Bible I find interesting. It’s a giant book of short stories, and like any book, there are some stories you like, and some you don’t.
The Bible, in my opinion, is putting a face onto the universe. To the rules of life. Miracles are things that cannot be explained. And yeah, there are people out there who will give you those explanations, and maybe it all makes sense. But have you thought that, regardless if something can be explained, those events happened at that time for a specific reason? I’m not necessarily saying its like “Everything happens for a reason,” but in a way it kind of is. The people, events and decisions you made brought you to where you are in this very moment.
I believe that projecting positive energy into the world, brings you positive people, events and outcomes in life. The energy is returned. & the same goes with the negative. I believe that if you truly want something, you can have it. If you believe that, you will have it. The Bible, to me, is a way that applies the same ideas, but with guidelines (and some sick twisted subliminal shit) and over time, some shitty stories got throw into the mix with some good stories with good messages.
This was basically just a longer way to express my dislike for organized religion. Plus it was nice to get the thoughts out.
Check this out! My good friend @andy_john is going to skate 50 miles, but you have to go check out @gbaso to get the whole story!
